The difference between the three film layers of laminated glass

The difference between the three film layers of laminated glass

2023 October 13

Laminated glass film usually includes PVB film, SGP film, EVA film, etc. Currently, PVB film is still the most commonly used film in construction.

1)The advantages of PVB film,

Safety,

Anti-theft,

Structural integrity,

Sound insulation characteristics,

UV protection,

Energy conservation

The size of the glass determines the thickness of the PVB film. The single layer thickness of PVB film is 0.38mm. If the size increases, more film thickness will be used, double layer, three layer, and four layer films, etc.

PVB laminated glass is widely used in the fields of construction and automotive.

2)The advantages of EVA film,

High transparency,

High adhesion,

Impact resistance,

Good durability.

Low melting point, easy to flow.

EVA laminated glass has weak UV resistance and is prone to yellowing and blackening due to long-term exposure to sunlight. Therefore, it is mainly used for indoor partitions.

3)The advantages of SGP film,

It has high strength and shear modulus, and excellent mechanical properties,

Has good edge stability and good compatibility with structural adhesive,

Colorless and transparent, not easily discolored, with excellent permeability and a yellowing index below 1.5,

Excellent safety and anti intrusion performance after glass breakage,

Superior weather resistance and less prone to aging,

Excellent bonding performance with metals.
